Weingart Homeless Center
Written by Robert on March 26, 2009 – 9:08 am -

To raise awareness for the Weingart Homeless Center, they took a non traditional approach that made people imagine themselves homeless if only for a moment. They photographed a dozen of the 70.000 people living on the streets of Los Angeles. They gave each of them a blank cardboard sign and had them write the same message: Before you turn away, put yourself in my place. Followed by the URL, weingart.org. Then they took those images, blew them up life-size, removed their faces and made them into photo-realistic cardboard cutouts. They placed the cutouts in upscale shopping centers in Bevery Hills and Santa Monica. Soon the homeless could not be ignored. This project not only raised awareness, but it ultimately raised funds.
Agency: David & Goliath Los Angeles, USA.

Limited Edition Gold Rucksack
Written by Robert on February 17, 2009 – 3:44 pm -
After stealing the show at the Spring/Summer 2009 Collection, Billionaire Boys Club has just released this flashy Leather Rucksack, in gold. This gaudy backpack touts BBC’s signature “Dollars & Diamonds” imprinted all over. There’s a handle on top with a leather tie and adjustable straps forming closure with a buckle. Also, it flaunts two flap pockets on the outer surface and a small zip pocket inside. Metal hardware ensures durability while lending it a glossy finish as well. The bag also comes with a “Dollars & Diamonds” dust bag version as well.
It seems that BBC doesn’t want to make it a normal possession; that’s the reason maybe only four of these are available for $1,650.

Also, keep watching for more updates from Envee because they have a lot of great stuff planned in the near future!”

This seasons theme is “Know Your Destination”. Some people wander through life not knowing where they are headed or how they will get there. This them focuses on the choices that people make that put them on the path to their destination, be it the high road or the low road. To each their own, everyone has a reason for their choices and you can’t knock someone for the choices they make if you haven’t been in their shoes.
The Low Road
The Necromancer and Envee Skull tee’s focus on the darker path. Everyone has skeletons in their closet, some come out to creep the night and some stay in the darkness, plotting and sneaking. Can you suppress your inner demons? Death is a challenge. It tells us not to waste time. When the body sinks into death, the essence of man is revealed.
The Middle Road
The Legendary tee spotlights the battle between the high and low road. Let everyone that you see, know you mean business and you are something legends are made of.
The High Road
The Evolved Essence and Guardian Angel tee’s focus on the high road. Someone once said “Change is the essence of life. Be willing to surrender what you are for what you could become.” Live your life as you would like to be remembered. Guardian Angels are thought to be spiritual beings that are “assigned” to assist people here on Earth in various ways. Whether there is one angel per person, one angel for several person or several angels for one person is open to question. But whether you believe in them or not, or whether you want one or not, believers insist that you do have a guardian angel.

I spy: Headphones with built-in webcam
Written by Robert on December 5, 2008 – 2:28 pm -
Camera in a mobile phone does make sense, but how will you use a camera implanted in your headphones? Only the designers, Andy Kurovets & Kris Dekeijser, can explain the functionality of their unnamed gadget that features a camera in the headset. Probably they are targeting the spy agencies as their potential buyers. If you are also a die hard fan of Sherlock Holmes and looks to capture every detail of the incidents going around you, the head or webcam maybe an ideal spy device for you.

Usability:
The headphones present a giant crystal on the side that conceals the webcam when not in use. You may simply pull the webcam out of the crystal and place it in your table or PC to be used as a camera.

Kanye West’s Naked Party
Written by robert on November 24, 2008 – 12:19 pm -Kanyeezy throws album listening party…

Kanye West threw a party in LA on Tuesday night with the perfect ingredients for press coverage; cue celebrities, 40 naked models and eagerly anticipated new music.
Mr. West is yet to comment on his party in full but he has posted pictures of the nude models, sorry, ‘live performance artists’ on his blog but please note they mate not be SFW, the picture above is one of the least explicit. The hitmaker hired artist Vanessa Beecroft to set up the erm… display.
Heaven forbid Kanye would let people listen to his music without an uber defensive rant “I don’t give a f**k if someone rates it ‘hot’ or ‘not.’ I’m here to bring positivity that cannot be judged. It’s like judging a grandmother’s love.” Wow. Nobody wants to upset a grandmother.
Anyway, the audience consisting of friends, journalists and music executives, were privy to new tracks from his forthcoming album 808 & Heartbreak, the two main tracks that have been mentioned are Heartless and Cold As Winter, the latter in memory of Kanye’s late mother Donda.

The Art of Chess
Written by Robert on September 25, 2008 – 7:00 am -
Organized by London’s RS&A, the “Art of Chess” is an ongoing touring exhibition. Leading contemporary artists (for example, Damien Hirst and Paul McCarthy take the chess board as basis for their own creative interpretation of the game. McCarthy incorporates the contents of a pantry, Hirst focuses more on the games interactions within the mind. The latest incarnation of the exhibition is currently on view in Dublin at the Sebastian Guinness Gallery. Included is a newly created short film by Gavin Turk, a still of which you can see above. The exhibition will be on view in Dublin until October 9.
